LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is seeking information for a poaching case involving a trophy mule deer buck near Medicine Bow.

Elk Mountain game warden Ryan Kenneda says somebody shot the buck with a rifle Saturday. A guest at a nearby ranch reported seeing the buck alive earlier in the day.

Kenneda says the shooter took no meat from the buck and left its six-by-seven antlers intact. He says the animal would have been a once-in-a-lifetime buck for a legal hunter.

Game and Fish says anyone with information about the poaching can call its tip line at (877) 943-3847.
