LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Lubbock police have charged a 43-year-old man with murder in the death of woman whose body was found in 2008.

Police said Thursday that investigators used DNA evidence to link Billy Jack Limbaugh Jr. to the slaying of Monica Adams. A police statement says the evidence also implicates Limbaugh in two sexual assaults.

Adams’ body was found Aug. 20, 2008, in a field in eastern Lubbock.

Limbaugh was arrested and charged earlier this week with aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault in a May 11 attack. On Thursday, police served warrants on Limbaugh while he was jailed for the death of Adams and for aggravated sexual assault in a 2008 case.

He was in the Lubbock County Jail with bond set at $250,000. Jail records do not show an attorney.
