MACON, Ga. (AP) - The Macon-Bibb County Commission has approved of building a water park at a middle Georgia lake.

The Telegraph of Macon (https://bit.ly/1BSzsRp ) reports commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to approve of the development at Lake Tobesofkee, which calls for a $2.7 million investment by Spirit of America Theme Park and Development LLC. The deal includes a 20-year lease and $248,000 of publicly funded improvements near Sandy Beach.

The newspaper reports a description of the project includes a year-round pool, a lazy river, a wave pool, two water slides that are at least 250 feet long and more.

Officials say the park is expected to open in June of 2015.
