WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - A 20-year-old Wichita man has been sentenced to more than three years in prison for his role in the theft of a wedding ring from a dying woman’s hand at a Taco Bell drive-thru.

KAKE-TV (https://bit.ly/1siCAGq ) reports Quanique Dontrell Thomas-Hameen was found guilty of misdemeanor theft and obstructing apprehension in a felony offense. Police say Thomas-Hameen was inside when Daquantrius Saquill Johnson and Keith Byron Hickels Jr. stole a ring from the finger of 43-year-old Danielle Zimmerman after she suffered a brain aneurism in the drive-thru.

Thomas-Hameen apologized to the Zimmerman family in court Thursday, saying he takes responsibility for not speaking up. Zimmerman’s husband, Kris Zimmerman, then for the maximum sentence.

Jason and Hickels are scheduled for trial in December. The wedding ring was never found.
