LUMBERTON, N.C. (AP) - Robeson County authorities have arrested a man in connection with the death of his pregnant girlfriend.

Multiple media outlets report 29-year-old Christopher O’Brian Lennon is charged with first-degree murder and murder of an unborn child. Lennon was arrested on Wednesday after he was indicted by a grand jury.

The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that Lennon is accused of killing 21-year-old Princess Powell in Lumberton. The statement said Lennon told investigators that he found Powell’s body on the living room couch on Sept. 7.

An autopsy showed that Powell died of blunt force trauma to her body and that she was pregnant.

Lennon is being held without bond in the Robeson County jail. It’s not known whether he has an attorney.
