PHOENIX (AP) - A 39-year-old Phoenix man is accused of killing and abusing his infant daughter.

Duryea Dupri Bennett was booked into a Maricopa County jail Thursday in the death of 1-month-old Natalyah Bennett. It’s not immediately clear whether the father has an attorney.

His arrest on suspicion of first-degree murder and of child abuse resulted from a 911 call Wednesday that a baby was not breathing.

Police say paramedics noticed bruising and that hospital personnel also found a skull fracture, broken ribs, bite marks and injuries consistent with a sexual assault.

Sgt. Trent Crump says the mother was not home and that the father was alone with seven children ranging in age from 1 month old to 14 years old.

Police say none of the other children showed signs of abuse.
