MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire State Police say a driver hit a car carrying a mother and her two children on a highway, didn’t’ stop and brandished a knife at them when they followed.

Police said the mother called police on Thursday morning, saying her car was hit by another one on Interstate 293 in Manchester and that the car fled. She followed the car.

She said the driver brandished the knife and continued to flee off of exit 6 onto Candia Road. The mother followed him into several parking lots, but eventually lost sight of the car.

Police found the car and arrested 19-year-old Adrian Yates of New Boston on charges of conduct after an accident and criminal threatening.

It wasn’t immediately known if he has a lawyer.
