MILWAUKEE (AP) - Police have issued an all-clear after a report of a gunman prompted authorities to lock down a building at Milwaukee Area Technical College.

An alert on the college’s website says that MATC public safety officials and police investigated, but no threat was identified.

Police were called to Building C at 8th and Highland shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday. The all-clear was given about two-and-a-half hours later.

School officials say the lockdown was a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students, faculty and staff.
