NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - North Las Vegas police say they’ve arrested a 22-year-old driver and are looking for his passenger after shots were fired at an officer several times during a high-speed chase.

Authorities say the incident began at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, when an officer heard gunfire and saw a blue Saturn speeding away.

Police say the officer caught up with the vehicle and tried to pull it over near Cheyenne Avenue and Commerce Street, but the Saturn fled.

Authorities say an occupant shot at the officer multiple times before crashing into a power pole on West Alexander Road. The officer was not injured.

Police say they arrested Christopher Young, who they believe is the driver, and are looking for the passenger.

Young faces charges including attempted murder and evading an officer.
