WACO, Texas (AP) - A Central Texas couple who stole more than 50,000 pieces of mail from more than 80 cities have been sentenced to federal prison.

A federal judge in Waco handed down the punishments to 39-year-old Charles Hattenbach and 29-year-old Kathryn Hubbert on Wednesday. Hattenbach received six years and nine months and Hubbert got four years. They pleaded guilty over the summer to conspiracy to steal mail, bank fraud, theft of government property and other charges.

Federal prosecutors say the couple from Temple robbed post offices, collection boxes and parcel lockers in Central Texas. They say the thefts happened from December 2013 until March 2014.
