ATLANTA (AP) - Police are investigating after a bullet-riddled van with three gunshot victims inside pulled up to the lobby of the Marriott Marquis in downtown Atlanta, startling some hotel guests.

Police say a total of six people were inside the white van with New Jersey tags when it arrived at the hotel late Wednesday night.

Hotel guest Jeff Johnson tells WSB-TV that he saw the van pull up, and several men jumped out, yelling.

The gunshot victims were hospitalized. WSB reports that one of the victims, a woman, was shot in the back and was alert and conscious when paramedics took her away.

Police early Thursday were still investigating what led to the shooting.

CBS 46 reports that someone had fired at the van on Auburn Avenue, just outside Ebenenzer Baptist Church.
