BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 29-year-old woman whose body was found in a southwestern Michigan field is believed to have died of an accidental drug overdose.

The Berrien County sheriff’s department says investigators found Taylor Elzey’s body on Tuesday in Benton Township after someone reported a body had been dumped in the area late last week.

Investigators believe that Elzey was at an apartment in Hagar Township and died before her body was moved to the field. An autopsy was performed on Wednesday and preliminary results indicated that there were no signs of an assault or trauma.

Toxicology results are pending. The sheriff’s department expects to send a report on the death to prosecutors for a review.
