WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Wilmington police have identified two men killed in separate shootings in the city.

Officers were called to Wilmington Hospital about 12:45 a.m. Sunday for one victim who had been brought there by a private car. Police say 23-year-old Brian Irby underwent emergency surgery but died of his wounds. Authorities say they did not know where the shooting took place.

Officers say a second victim was shot three times near 27th and Tatnall streets about 2 a.m. Sunday. Thirty-two-year-old Howard Watkins was taken to a hospital but later died.

Police are asking for anyone with information about the two slayings to contact them.
