CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - The city of Casper is looking at regulating electronic billboards.

City planners have been talking with sign companies and their customers about the need for regulations. Casper Planning and Zoning Commission Vice Chairman James Holloway says it’s a matter of both public safety and preserving Casper’s character.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/W3lrls) the commission plans to take up a proposed electronic billboard ordinance Sept. 23.

Brian Woodward is general manager of a Casper Walgreens. He says electronic billboards attract customers but also are used to deliver community service messages.
