CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - The New Hampshire Department of Corrections has been recognized by the state for its energy efficiency efforts.

The department received a certificate recognizing its recent computer upgrade project, which integrated energy efficiency options that are projected to save an average of $12,500 annually in energy costs.

The department says the computer upgrade project replaced and consolidated machines that were 10 or more years old. The machines process data more quickly and include built-in mechanisms to keep energy costs at a minimum.
