PUTNEY, Vt. (AP) - Landmark College in Putney has begun construction of a $10 million education and research center focused on science, technology, engineering and math.

At a groundbreaking ceremony this weekend, College President Peter Eden said officials made a conscious decision to locate the new building at the front of the campus to signal to visitors that the college takes risks, invests in its campus and is a progressive institution.

The Brattleboro Reformer reports that (https://bit.ly/1ltn8Vm ) the new center is being built as the college expands its mission and programs. It began offering a four-year bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies in 2012 and its board is being asked to approve new four-year degrees in computer science and studio arts.
