CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) - The North Carolina High School Athletic Association says it will hold its eight basketball championship games in Chapel Hill this season.

The NCHSAA had split the men’s and women’s title games between the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Smith Center and North Carolina State University’s Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh since 2003.

But N.C. State is scheduled to begin major renovations to Reynolds in March so it’s unavailable.

The Class 1-A and 3-A games will be played at UNC’s Carmichael Arena, while the 2-A and 4-A games will be played at the Smith Center.

The games are scheduled for March 14.
