NEW YORK (AP) - A New York City man has been convicted of choking and robbing six vulnerable victims in broad daylight.

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. says Anthony White was convicted Tuesday on numerous counts of robbery and strangulation. He’ll be sentenced on Nov. 13.

Six men - four of them elderly - were attacked in and around subway stations in August 2011.

The DA says White targeted victims he could “easily overpower” then choked them from behind while robbing them.

One victim suffered a stroke in the hours following the attack and was hospitalized for a month.
