RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Several recreation areas in the Sylamore Ranger District in Arkansas have been closed as authorities search for a man wanted on assault charges in Mississippi.

The U.S. Forest Service says the North Sylamore Creek Hiking Trail, the Syllamo Mountain Bike Trail, Gunner Pool, Barkshed, and the Blanchard Springs day use area, including Mirror Lake, are closed. Guided tours at Blanchard Springs Caverns remain open.

Authorities are searching for Samuel Ray, who was last seen at Gunner Pool Campground on Tuesday.

The Stone County Sheriff’s Office says Ray is wanted in Mississippi on an aggravated assault with a weapon charge.
