WHAT’S AT STAKE

Central Florida, coming off a 12-1 season in which it won the Fiesta Bowl, is trying to rebound after losing its opener to Penn State 26-24 in Ireland. Missouri defeated Toledo 49-24 last week and is looking to start 3-0 for the seventh time in the last nine seasons.

KEY MATCHUP

Missouri’s defensive ends against Central Florida’s Justin Holman, who is making his first career start after relieving freshman Pete DiNovo in the opener and throwing for one touchdown and running for two more. Markus Golden and Shane Ray have combined for 8.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks through two games for the Tigers.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Central Florida: CB Jacoby Glenn broke up two passes and intercepted another against Penn State, while also making 11 tackles.

Missouri: QB Maty Mauk is tied for first in the country with eight touchdown passes, five of which came at Toledo. The sophomore, who has only six career starts, also had two interceptions and says he’s trying to make better decisions in the pocket.

Missouri owns the nation’s longest takeaway streak at 46 games. . Last week, Mauk became just the third Missouri player to account for six touchdowns in a game (5 passing, 1 rushing), joining Terry McMillian in 1969 and Corby Jones in 1997. . Central Florida has won two consecutive games against ranked opponents and is 4-2 in its last six matchups with teams currently in the SEC, ACC, Big Ten or Big 12. . The Tigers defeated the Knights 21-16 in Orlando in 2012 in the schools’ only other meeting.
