MILLSBORO, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police are asking for the public’s help to find the killer of a taxi driver found dead in his cab on a Millsboro road.

Forty-five-year-old William Toomey’s body was found Aug. 20 after a passer-by reported a suspicious taxi.

Troopers declined to say how Toomey was killed.

Police said Thursday that the day he was killed, Toomey picked a man up on Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach around 7:45 p.m. The cab drove to Millsboro and was in a neighborhood known as Parker’s Point for about 10 minutes.

Around 8:45 p.m., a witness saw a man in the taxi driver’s seat who doesn’t match Toomey’s appearance.

At 10 p.m., Toomey’s body was found.

Police are looking for witnesses who may have seen the taxi or the male passenger.
