NEW YORK (AP) - Elisabeth Moss will play the insecure heroine of “The Heidi Chronicles” in a Broadway revival slated for February.

Producers said Thursday that the “Mad Men” star will play the lead in the portrait of a woman who takes a 20-year journey beginning in the late 1960s and changes her attitudes about herself, men and other women.

The play will also star Emmy Award-nominee Jason Biggs of “Orange Is The New Black” and “American Pie” fame, Tony Award-nominee Bryce Pinkham from “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” and will feature Tracee Chimo, late of the play “Bad Jews.”

Tony Award-winner Pam MacKinnon will direct. The creative team will include scenic design by John Lee Beatty and costume design by Jessica Pabst. Exact dates and the theater where it will play will be announced later.

Wasserstein, died of lymphoma at the age of 55 in 2006, found her greatest popular success with “The Heidi Chronicles,” which won the best-play Tony Award starring Joan Allen as well as the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1989.

Wasserstein’s writing was known for its sharp, often comedic look about what women had to do to succeed in a world dominated by men. Some of her other plays include “The Sisters Rosensweig” and “Isn’t It Romantic.”

The revival will be produced by Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, Susan Gallin, Mary Lu Roffe, Sally Horchow, Rebecca Gold, Wally Hays, Jam Theatricals, Gabrielle Palitz, Jessica Genick and Will Trice.
