MOAB, Utah (AP) - Authorities say a 65-year-old man who was taking photos of waterfalls in eastern Utah died after slipping from a rock ledge.

Grand County sheriff’s officials say Moab resident Patrick Flannigan was found Tuesday evening in a pool of water near the Goose Island Campground. Rescuers were unable to revive him, and his body was taken to the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Investigators say Flannigan was seen taking photos of the waterfalls about 30 minutes before he was found unconscious. They believe he slipped off a ledge in the rainy weather and fell about 20 feet to the pool below.
