NEW YORK (AP) - A New Jersey man says he is “at peace” after this year’s World Trade Center ceremony in Lower Manhattan.

Tom Langer of Summit, New Jersey, lost his sister-in-law, Vanessa Langer. She was 4½ months pregnant and worked in the south tower for a property management group.

Langer says having a museum “changes things.”

He says the site went from “being a hole in the ground” to “something beautiful.”

And that, he says, is why he “didn’t cry this year.”

After 9/11, Langer took classes at Rutgers University to better understand the Islamic religion.

He says it’s “a beautiful religion” that should not be blamed for the “devastating” events.
