LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - A group of scientists, educators and industry professionals has begun to study how to improve the science programs and laboratories at the University of Wyoming.

Gov. Matt Mead appointed the task force and attended its first meeting on Wednesday in Laramie.

The task force is led by former Gov. Dave Freudenthal.

Mead emphasized the importance of the task force’s role in helping guide improvement of UW’s science programs.

He says it’s nice to have new buildings, but what goes on inside the buildings is more important.

The Laramie Boomerang reports (https://bit.ly/1uxDSvD ) that the task force will submit a proposal to Mead toward the end of the year.
