SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP) - Police say a man who allegedly torched five used BMWs at a Santa Monica dealership has been arrested for investigation of arson.

Witnesses tell police they saw a man throwing some kind of liquid on the cars at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday and then lighting them with some kind of torch-like device.

The cars were all in the same row at Santa Monica BMW.

Santa Monica Sgt. Robert Villegas tells City News Service the man was arrested near the scene of the fire.

The motive for the vandalism is unknown.
