LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Retired Army Gen. Wesley Clark and Gov. Mike Beebe are speaking at an event in Little Rock to mark the 20th anniversary of AmeriCorps.

The Clinton Presidential Library plans an event Friday to mark the program’s anniversary and to swear in new participants. Former President Bill Clinton launched the first crop of AmeriCorps volunteers in September 1994.

The Little Rock event is being held concurrently with the swearing-in ceremonies taking place in other states throughout the country. Clinton planned to join President Barack Obama for an event marking the anniversary at the White House.
