EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan State University plans to build student and family apartments at the site where the state police headquarters once stood.

The spot is across Harrison Road from the parking lot of the Breslin Center. The police headquarters was demolished two years ago.

The Lansing State Journal reports Friday (https://on.lsj.com/1xUgcq2 ) that the cost of the project hasn’t been determined, and the East Lansing school is in the process of hiring an architectural firm.

A plan for the apartments is expected next year with an anticipated completion date in 2017.
