GEORGETOWN, S.C. (AP) - An autopsy is planned on the body of a Mount Pleasant man found near a boat landing in Georgetown County.

Deputy Coroner Chase Ridgeway tells local media outlets that the body of 58-year-old Leland Victor Leith was found Thursday afternoon near Browns Ferry Landing. Authorities say he had a boat docked in the Georgetown area.

Ridgeway says Leith had been dead for about two days before his body was discovered. An autopsy is set for Friday at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
