CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Veterans and others expressed a mix of frustration, anger and support for the Cheyenne Veterans Affairs Medical Center during a public forum attended by about two dozen people.

The forum Thursday night was hosted by the VA in response to revelations that officials at VA facilities across the country, including the one in Cheyenne, were falsifying patient scheduling records.

Several veterans said that this issue is systemic of larger problems in how the federal agency has treated veterans.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports (https://bit.ly/1wipB64 ) that others, however, defended the Cheyenne VA Medical Center and noted that it remains better than larger facilities.

Cheyenne VA Medical Center Director Cynthia McCormack said the forum is part of the agency’s efforts to improve transparency and communication with the veterans.
