TORRINGTON, Wyo. (AP) - The Eastern Wyoming College Board of Trustees has placed President Tom Armstrong on paid administrative leave.

No explanation was given for the action on Thursday.

In a short statement, the trustee said they have appointed Richard Patterson, a criminal justice instructor at the college, to serve as the interim president until further notice.

Armstrong has been president of the community college in Torrington since August 2008.
