SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) - A former fire department employee is suing the city of Springfield, accusing it of age discrimination.

In the lawsuit filed last week in Lane County Circuit Court, Linda Morris, says city officials forced her to retire last November because of her age and denied her a hearing to address a forgery allegation.

The Register-Guard reports (https://bit.ly/1AGcaNZ ) she was 64 and had been accused of signing another person’s name on a document.

A city spokesman, Niel Laudati, declined to comment about the allegations in the lawsuit.

Morris is seeking $1.2 million.
