TEMPERANCE, Mich. (AP) - Officials say a woman, her 16-year-old daughter and a 17-year-old boy are suspected of using grass killer in an attempt to create an image of male genitalia across a Michigan high school football field.

The Monroe County sheriff’s department says it began investigating the damage last week along with Bedford Public Schools officials.

The Monroe News reports damage forced district officials to relocate football games from the field. Superintendent Mark Kleinhans tells the Detroit Free Press that replacing grass because of the “very inappropriate, disgusting” image will cost roughly $10,000.

The sheriff’s department says it questioned the three residents of Bedford Township and investigators learned they were trying to mimic a similar act seen online.

Names weren’t immediately released. The department says all three are expected to face charges.
