PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Providence College student who accused two Brown University football players of rape has hired a Boston lawyer and former sex crimes prosecutor to represent her.

The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1qP7Jhl ) that Wendy J. Murphy has taken up the Brown case after a grand jury declined to indict the players last month.

Murphy accused the state attorney general’s office of trying to “stonewall” her attempts to gather documents and challenged a District Court judge’s decision to seal court records related to search warrants for records of cellphone calls between the two accused football players and a third player who was not part of the grand jury case.

Spokeswoman Amy Kempe says the attorney general’s office received a public records request from Murphy’s client on Aug. 28 and emailed a response Thursday.
