LANSING, Mich. (AP) - The Lansing Police Department says a two-month-old boy involved in a child abuse investigation has died.

The Lansing boy was pronounced dead Friday afternoon. The Lansing State Journal (https://on.lsj.com/X91zhz ) reports he had been in critical condition at a local hospital since Sept. 3.

When Lansing police responded to a report of an infant who had stopped breathing, they said they found the boy’s mother and her boyfriend attempting to revive him.

Capt. Daryl Green says no one has been arrested in connection with the boy’s death. He says the case is classified as an open investigation and detectives will continue to look into the cause of his death.
