CARBONDALE, Colo. (AP) - The nation’s top sheepdogs are competing in the National Sheepdog Finals near Carbondale this week.

Working with their handlers, the dogs have to corral five reluctant sheep into a pen.

Dennis Edwards, a handler from Sundance, Wyoming, told the Glenwood Springs Post Independent (https://bit.ly/1m0rPqe) that the range sheep come from big flocks and aren’t used to being broken down into such small groups.

The top dog and handler will be chosen from the field of 150 teams on Sunday.
