GOBLES, Mich. (AP) - Van Buren County authorities say a man is seriously injured after jumping out of moving car during an argument with his former girlfriend.

Sheriff Dale Gribler says deputies found 24-year-old James Doolin-Miller of Gobles with major head trauma on Thursday afternoon. He says Doolin-Miller jumped while the woman was driving at about 35 mph. She then called 911.

Gribler says Doolin-Miller was stabilized at the scene and taken to an area hospital with severe, life-threatening injuries.

He says they argued about “child-related matters.”

Authorities continue to investigate.
