DETROIT (AP) - Anti-abortion activists will gather at an eastside Detroit cemetery as part of the “National Day of Remembrance for Abortion Victims.”

Detroit-area Bishop Donald Hanchon and other clergy are expected to attend the 1 p.m. Saturday event at Assumption Grotto Cemetery.

The memorial is sponsored by Citizens for a Pro-life Society, Priests for Life, and the Pro-life Action League. The groups say mourners across the country will visit more than 40 gravesites, as well as, memorial markers at churches and cemeteries.

They say the first remembrance event was held last year with prayer services at more than 100 locations.
