CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire manufacturing conference is exploring subjects ranging from the next generation of workers to industry collaboration with the state’s community colleges and the University of New Hampshire.

The 12th annual Governor’s Advanced Manufacturing and High Technology Summit is scheduled for Oct. 2 at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester.

Jeffrey Rose, commissioner of the Department of Resources and Economic Development, says manufacturing employs over 65,000 people in New Hampshire and the average annual salary is about $75,000. He says there’s tremendous opportunity, especially for young people, in fields like aerospace and defense components, medical devices and food products.
