NEW SCOTLAND, N.Y. (AP) - Thacher State Park near Albany is celebrating its centennial.

The celebrations Saturday include guided hikes, trail races, live music and a ceremony at the spot the park was dedicated on Sept. 14, 1914.

Thacher Park sits on the Helderberg Escarpment and offers panoramic views of the Hudson Valley, Green Mountains and the foothills of the Adirondacks.

The park 20 miles west of Albany also has 25 miles of trails.
