WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) - Students at the Wake Forest University School of Law are spending part of their weekend sprucing up a Winston-Salem Park.

The Wake Forest Law’s Black Law Students Association is hosting a park cleanup Saturday as a part of the Southern Region Black Law Students Association’s annual community service weekend. The group gathers at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center in downtown Winston-Salem.

Association President Ashley Waring said the goal of the event is to bring together the surrounding community to benefit the entire city and strengthen community bonds.

The Southern Region Black Law Students Association is the southernmost branch of the national Black Law Students Association. BLSA is a professional organization committed to articulating and promoting the educational, professional, political, and social needs and goals of African-American law students.
