SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Police are searching for a man who robbed a wheelchair-bound woman at knifepoint in Salt Lake City.

Police say the thief made off with a small bag that contained the woman’s prescription medicine while she was returning home in an electric wheelchair Thursday.

Investigators say he also tried to take a purse that was strapped around her shoulder, but he apparently was scared off when a car began backing out of a nearby driveway.

The 60-year-old woman escaped injury.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s who has distinguishing tattoos. The number “13” was on the side of his head, while the letter “M” was on his neck.
