SALEM, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a feed plant fire in northern New York was caused by the spontaneous combustion of old feed in a grain bin.

Local media report that the fire started early Monday morning at the Cargill facility in Salem, near the Vermont border. It took crews from seven fire departments more than four hours to put out the blaze.

The facility provides feed for farm animals.

There were no injuries.
