NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) - Three people have been arrested in the slaying of a man whose body was found on a riverbank near North Platte.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says two people reported seeing the body late Tuesday along the South Platte River. Officers say the body was wrapped in a tarp and had facial wounds that did not look accidental.

After interviewing transients in the area, officers arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of murder and a 31-year-old woman on suspicion of being an accessory. A 30-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, also on suspicion of murder.

Court records don’t yet list the cases or show that the three have been formally charged.

The Sheriff’s Office isn’t releasing the victim’s name until his relatives have been notified about his death.
