SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a former police officer at Summerville High School has been charged with distributing child pornography,

The State Law Enforcement Division said in a news release that 40-year-old Carlisle Johnson Floyd was arrested Tuesday and charged with three counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

A sworn statement says Floyd distributed the pornography at the beginning of August.

Officials at Dorchester School District 2 say there is no indication Floyd’s charges have anything to do with his position at the school.

SLED says Floyd faces two to 10 years in prison on each count if convicted.

It wasn’t known if Floyd had a lawyer.
