YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - The state Executive Ethics Board has found “reasonable cause” that a supporter of Republican U.S. House candidate Dan Newhouse committed two ethics violations this summer.

The campaign volunteer, Washington State Potato Commission director Chris Voigt, is the Grant County chairman of Newhouse’s campaign.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports Voigt is accused of using his work e-mail and commission-issued vehicle to deliver Newhouse campaign signs to supporters. The investigation began in July after an anonymous person reported the allegations to the Ethics Board.

Voigt has 30 days to respond.

Newhouse is running against fellow Republican Clint Didier in the November election to represent central Washington in Congress.
