TULSA, Okla. (AP) - University of Tulsa defensive tackle Jesse Brubaker will likely miss the remainder of the season after suffering an eye injury.

The school announced Wednesday that the sophomore suffered an orbital bone fracture to his left eye during a one-on-one drill during Tuesday’s practice. TU said Brubaker underwent successful surgery Tuesday night to repair the damaged area.

The recovery time is said to be six-to-eight weeks.

Brubaker had just returned to the field last week against Florida Atlantic after missing the first two games while recovering from a preseason concussion. He started 10 games as a true freshman last season.
