BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Birmingham police say charges aren’t expected to be filed against a teenage boy who wounded two teens and a toddler while he was handling a shotgun.

Lt. Sean Edwards says two girls, ages 16 and 17, were shot in the leg and a 3-year-old boy was shot in his foot on Wednesday.

Edwards says a group of relatives were gathered on a front porch at the time of the shooting and the 17-year-old victim told authorities the shooting was accidental.

Police have said none of the victims’ injuries were life threatening.
