BIDDEFORD, Maine (AP) - The Maine fire marshal’s office says an apartment building fire in Biddeford that injured two people was intentionally set.

Two young men were rescued from a third floor apartment early Thursday morning.

Maine State Police say they remained hospitalized Thursday afternoon with one in critical condition.

Six other people were treated at the hospital and released.

The fire marshal’s office says the fire was set in the rear stairwell of the building.

The state police are planning to help with the investigation.
