PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities are searching for a man whose DNA has been matched to four residential burglaries in Phoenix and one commercial burglary.

Phoenix police say 44-year-old Shadd Wayne Sowell was identified by blood samples left at two of the five burglary scenes and by containers taken from refrigerators at two other scenes.

They say the series of burglaries began in 2013 when a rock was used to break a front window and the suspect took more than $25,000 worth of jewelry and sports memorabilia.

Police say the rock was swabbed by an officer and DNA on the rock was matched to Sowell.

They say it also matched DNA left at three other residential and one commercial burglary.
